Social Justice & Empowerment

Within the framework of the EGAL-I project and its Social Justice axis, we aim to strengthen the capacity of Higher Education Institutions to guarantee equitable and just socio-academic inclusion for refugee and exiled students. Our objective relies on cooperation between the academic world and civil society to combat systemic inequalities and empower refugee students to become full actors in their academic and civic journeys.

Within this theme, two EGAL-I partners will implement and deploy targeted actions:

  • University of Modena and Reggio Emilia (Italy) will contribute to developing approaches and mechanisms that promote equity, access to rights, and the active participation of refugee students within both the university and local communities.
  • Kaunas University of Technology (Lithuania) will provide its expertise to design support mechanisms focused on social justice, helping to remove institutional barriers and enhance the skills of refugee students within an inclusive learning environment.

In this section, you will find all the activities, good practices and reports related to Social Justice and Empowerment under the EGAL-I project.
