The EGAL-I project is a cooperation partnership funded by the European Union through the Erasmus+ programme. Gathering 7 partners across Europe, it aims to enhance the capacity of Higher Education Institutions to address socio-academic inclusion of refugee students through academia/society cooperation and open innovation.

With the EGAL-I project, we intend to forge a shared vision between our partner institutions and to contribute to the upskilling of HE staff in the field of socio-academic inclusion of refugee students. This socio-academic inclusion will be carried out through transdisciplinary and action-oriented learning around 3 thematic areas :

  1. Socio-linguistic Inclusion
  2. Social Justice and Empowerment
  3. Open Innovation and Entrepreneurship

Following these three axes, we will deploy the conducted refugee student-centred actions and impact assessment to strengthen academia/society synergies for a better resilience. Many of our actions will be carried out at the local level with key stakeholders. Amongst our actions, we will organise training sessions, mentoring programmes between students and refugee students, workshops, cultural events, online events, masterclasses and hackathons on entrepreneurship and open innovation. We will also make new syllabuses better adapted to the refugee students’ needs, and a collection of best practices for social justice and empowerment for refugee students. These actions will allow us to increase the community between students and refugee students.
